iPod Touch Review

iPod Touch ReviewThe iPod touch is basically the iPhone without the phone. This means it has built wi-fi with the amazing safari browser. This is very rare in a MP3 player. It looks exactly like the iPhone, except a little slimmer and sharper. It is offered in 8 GB for $299.99 and in 16 GB for $399.99.

MP3 Player Design
Looks as amazing as the iPhone. Very nice sleek design, and just .43 inches thick. The iPod touch can easily be pocketed. The whole unit has just two buttons. A menu button on front, and a screen deactivater on top. The screen is huge, and is completely touch.

The only bad thing is that it only comes in one color (black).

MP3 Player Features
Playback of audio, video, and photos. It supports a wide variety of audio including AAC, MP3, Audible, WAV, and AIFF. It does all the basic stuff you would expect from an iPod. The video play back is phenomenal.

The magic is in the built in Wi-Fi and Safari web browser. The iPod touch has amazing web browsing, and it is very user friendly. It is completely touch, and our reviewers loved it. Apple definitely hit the hammer on the nail by including this feature in an MP3 player. You can even download music from itunes over Wi-Fi on the player. Sadly users will have to access email from the browser rather than a seperate application.

The iPod touch lacks an FM radio, exterior speaker, voice recorder, podcasting, and is low in capacity for a do-it-all video player.

MP3 Player Perormance
We were disappointed by the audio quality. It seemed subpar for an iPod. The video quality was amazing, however, delievering vibrant colors and displayed in landscape mode.

The battery is pretty good, netting 22 hours for audio or 6 hours for video. This is very good considering all that the player does.

The Wi-Fi works amazing. No complaints here.

MP3 Player Grade A-
Despite lacking many features such as fiveband EQ and FM radio and having average sound quality, the iPod touch is highly reccomended due to its amazing web browser. If you don't need web browsing in a MP3 player, you should look elsewhere. The price is very high considering the small capacity, so a video buff should avoid this.

If you are looking for a Wi-Fi phone this can't be beat. Apple managed to pack so many features never seen before on an MP3 player, and it deserves props for this. I guess with the iPod Touch you can say you get what you pay for.
